The 20-year-old non-profit Entrada Institute in Torrey sponsors a Summer Sunset Series of events including live acoustic music at Robbers Roost Bookstore. The series begins on May 24th from 1:30-6:30PM with the annual Cowboy Poetry & Music Festival featuring The Capitol Reefers, Chappell Family Band, Cameron Hallows, Detour Utah, Mike Moutoux, and Jim Jones. Preston Stephenson, winner of the annual Wayne High Poetry Contest, will recite his poem during the festival.
On June 7th, the Capitol Reefers will provide the music and noted Utah artists provide the paintings for an art show, reception and concert.
During the Apple Days celebration in Torrey on July 5th , you’ll find a full slate of events culminating in music from Rough Around the Edges, local singer songwriters, The Capitol Reefers and Better Off With the Blues.
On July 26, the Mark Cheney Trio will play their unique jazz stylings.
A brand new event happens on August 1st & 2nd. Take the Stage!- A youth Music Festival will bring musical kids and parents from all around the state for a series of events and concerts.
The 8th Annual Women’s Red Rock Music festival takes over the town on Aug 8 & 9 with an eclectic blend of music from the sublime to the raucous. Eliza Gilkyson headlines with numerous other acts to be announced soon.
September 13th brings Up Til Dawn to town for a concert and Wayne County CD release for their new recording made in nearby Teasdale at the Windy Barn Studio.
The season ends on October 18th with the Annual Friendraiser featuring Stacey Board.
