About Entrada
The Entrada Institute is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the natural, historical, and cultural heritage of the Colorado Plateau. The Entrada Institute is headquartered in Torrey, Utah, the gateway to Capitol Reef National Park. A 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization, the Entrada Institute hosts events that include lectures and concerts, sponsors scientific studies and creative work, and extends scholarships to local students. Join us for the 2025 *Take the Stage* Youth Theatre Event, a fun-filled theater camp led by Heather Brinkerhoff Westenskow from July 8–11 at the Wayne County Community Center in Bicknell!
Kids will sing, dance, and perform songs from Broadway musicals while learning stage skills, vocal techniques, and choreography—including jazz square, grapevine, hip-hop, and stomp. Each day starts with energizing warmups and theater games, followed by opportunities for solos, group harmonies, and team-building fun. It’s the perfect way for young performers to grow, shine, and celebrate the joy of working together on stage!

The second outdoor concert of the 2025 season will take place next Saturday, June 28, at 7:00 p.m., when The Butch Cassidies return to the Entrada stage. Known for its original songs and rich harmonies, this band features three women vocalists—Emily Cox, Lisa Hathaway, and Josie Kovash—on two guitars and a bass. They are often joined by Moab mandolin sensation, Eric Jones. Saturday's weather is predicted to be sunny with high temperatures in the low 80s. It will get cooler as the sun sets, so it's best to dress in layers or bring a blanket.

Have you heard of Camp Floyd State Park? It is one of many lesser known state parks in Utah with a rich history; and Clay Shelley, its park manager, looks forward to sharing events that took place there. In the town of Fairfield, the park has three historical structures and a cemetery. Clay, who has been at the park for 7 years, will recount stories of the park next Saturday, June 21, at 7:00 p.m. at Robber's Roost, 200 West and Main Street, in Torrey.

Take the Stage, youth theater camps for those between the ages of 8 and 14, will begin in just 3 weeks: July 8–11! Theater camps are a great opportunity for children to work together and have fun. Led again this year by Heather Brinkerhoff Westenskow, the camps will be held at the Wayne County Community Center in Bicknell. Details about each of the camps can be found in the flyer below.
